I'm pretty tired after all the excitement of last month.
I shone so brightly, on a midsummer high
full of love and brimming with joy.
There was bound to be a bit of a comedown.
So, even though I have a lot to catch up with I'm trying to take things slowly, sleeping a little longer, walking the long way to work so I can meander among the plants and trees.
This is what I now call 'wild edge' season.
The hogweed is fresh and tall,
the grasses are gorgeous
and the rosebay is coming into flower;
all the plants in my wild edge wallpaper window film and lamp designs are now in full bloom and it's like seeing old friends again.
Even the snail features in my design so I always notice them.
Next time you walk along a wild edge try counting them.
There are so many,
big and small.
I saw this slug, curled up as cosy as a cat in a hogweed umbel. It's almost cute!
I'm so glad to be able to hang out in nature while I get my strength back. We can't always be in full bloom can we. Nature doesn't work that way.
